The job, artist Seo Myunghae got after graduating university was a member of the art department staff for a film.  At that time she barely knew about the film industry though.  Like the majority of film staff, She started her career without knowing what she was going to do.  After 10 years, she became an art director with a ten year career behind her. For those long years, Such  job experience, anger, a sense of betrayal, grumbling and her own philosophy have piled up in her stomach. I think deep thoughts are stored in the stomach instead of the brain. One day when she had a plenty of time, she thought that she wanted to get rid of  those feelings from her stomach. She was sick of getting revenge on her old enemies only in her dreams. Also she was fed up with herself about suffering from a persecution complex for such a long time. She began her work as an artist with the mindset of a Buddhist. She put all her negative thoughts on a Buddhist altar and then bowed one hundred and eight times. Illustration work takes a long time and she needed patience.

First of all, she listed words starting with A to Z and then chose words. For example  Accident,Belief, Choice. Difference. While she was illustrating, sometimes the words were changed, however, the purpose of getting over her complex through making pictures never changed. During the later part of illustrating, She found herself lighthearted. And she realized she had experienced nothing special and she became outraged. Actually she was a bit disappointed about it, however, she had to admit to it.  I mean all the bad things did not happen to her because she was in filming. She could guess that everyone who earns a livelihood by working was living with a heavy burden. She thought that she had known that fact, but She realized she did not know that before. Also she could feel that for some people there was also anger, persecution complexes, disappointments and delicate plans for revenge, which they would never carry out,  All in their stomachs.

Artist Seo Myunghae wanted to hold an exhibition because of those reasons. If someone giggled at the illustrations, it should be enough reason for this exhibition. The giggles would mean that “Wow, I’m not the only one who has  those kind of feelings”. I am sure that people could sympathise with her illustrations. Maybe Seo myunghae opened her exhibition to find like-minded people.
